CENTERING
COMMUNITIES
AS LEADERS

IN CIRCULAR
FASHION

We are a global network of changemakers committed to reimagining the fashion industry from the ground up.
By bridging grassroots action with international collaboration, we work to shape equitable and sustainable textile ecosystems. Drawing wisdom from diverse cultures and practices, we envision fashion futures rooted in care, creativity, and collective responsibility.

“Today’s fashion industry is built on a take-make-waste model that harms people and the planet. To change this, we believe in the power of global collaboration rooted in transparency and trust. By bringing together the lived experience and inherently sustainable practices of informal communities, often found at either ends of the textile supply chain, with innovations from formal fashion spaces, we can build a fairer, circular fashion future.”

WHAT WE DO

We partner with communities across the textile supply chain to co-create solutions for a circular and just fashion industry. Centering lived experience, knowledge exchange, and grassroots innovation, we support regenerative practices that prioritise people, culture, and the environment. Our approach is collaborative, action-driven, and rooted in local resilience.

Communities come first, always.
We listen to and work with grassroots, often informal, communities whose intergenerational knowledge holds deep insights into sustainability and circularity, even if they don’t call it that. These communities have practiced resourcefulness and care for decades, often without recognition. We spotlight and support them through visibility, respect, and resources.

Knowledge rooted in tradition.
With these communities, we co-generate knowledge that challenges dominant sustainability narratives. Rather than seeing sustainability as something to be invented, we trace it back to communalism, nature, and tradition. This knowledge, often overlooked, is essential in redefining what sustainable futures can look like, and who leads them.

Transforming systems from within.
We believe in working with systems rather than against them. While the current fashion and textile systems are flawed, they can be reshaped by integrating the values and wisdom of sustainable cultures. By bridging traditional knowledge with systemic structures, we aim to foster transformation toward more regenerative, circular, and socially just systems.

Kantamanto Social Club is an upcycled fashion platform that reclaims space for historically marginalised communities. We challenge dominant narratives by amplifying voices that have long been excluded from global conversations on environmental and economic sustainability.
