Kanta to the World Cultuurfonds Designprijs 2025
Design Museum Den Bosch proudly presents the work of three talents from the Brabant design scene as part of the 2025 Design Prize. These talents have been selected by Niels van Eijk and Miriam van der Lubbe, the laureates of the 2025 Design Prize. The Design Prize is awarded every two years by the Cultuurfonds Noord-Brabant, alternating between an established designer and an emerging talent. Since Niels van Eijk and Miriam van der Lubbe have already been featured in several museums, they are now giving the stage to three up-and-coming talents they have selected: Amina Zemouli, Femke Hoppenbrouwer, and Kantamanto Social Club.
Kantamanto Social Club (KSC) is a collective founded by Daan Sonnemans (1996) and Anabel Poh (1998) that provides a platform for fashion designers from Ghana. These designers, also known as upcyclers, create unique pieces from clothing discarded by the West and exported from the Global North. KSC presents these designers as leaders in circular fashion, despite coming from communities that have historically been overlooked. By spotlighting these upcyclers, KSC not only highlights the creativity and resilience of these designers and their communities, but also advocates for a transformation of the global fashion system toward a more sustainable and equitable industry.
